Maria Joao Carvalho, MD, PhD is Gynaecologist and Obstetrictian at the Coimbra Hospital and Universitary Centre, Coimbra, Portugal. Additionally, she collaborated with teaching at FMUC and is an integrated member at CIBB (iCBR, CIMAGO), where she develops research aiming to find solutions for endometrial cancer and other gynaecology diseases. She has expertise in translational and clinical research. She was PI and co-PI of several clinical trials in the area of Gynecology. She acts as consultant for several pharmaceutic companies, where she advises the implementation of new therapeutics in the clinical practice. She will be involved as a consultant in the semesterly briefing with all the group leaders to discuss the project results and progress. She will support the group leaders to identify potential risk factors for future clinical translation and to plan possible mitigation measures. |
